Asha Yoga 200-Hour Teacher Training: A Chakra-Based Immersive Experience
Deepen your practice and empower others with Asha Yoga’s uniquely crafted 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training. Set over the course of 10 weekends, this transformative program is designed for both aspiring yoga instructors and dedicated practitioners eager to delve deeper into their journey. Rooted in the ancient wisdom of the chakras, each module of the training unfolds in alignment with one of the seven main energy centers of the body, ensuring a holistic approach that bridges physical practice, emotional awareness, and spiritual growth.
Program Highlights:
Chakra-Centric Learning: Each weekend focuses on one of the primary chakras, exploring its physical, emotional, and energetic attributes. This structured approach enables trainees to understand and embody the subtle body system, enhancing personal practice and teaching with deeper insight.
Yoga Philosophy and History: Dive into the foundations of yoga’s philosophy, from Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and the Eight Limbs of Yoga to the timeless teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. Explore how these ancient texts can be integrated into modern life and teaching practices.
Comprehensive Asana Study: Experience intensive practice and study of asanas, with a focus on alignment, modifications, and the energetic quality associated with each chakra. Trainees will build confidence in understanding when to demo, effective cueing, and teaching to different body types and abilities.
In-Depth Anatomy and Physiology: Learn to navigate the body with knowledge of the skeletal, muscular, and nervous systems, tailored to the chakra of focus each weekend. Practical anatomy sessions support safe practice and teaching, with added emphasis on preventing injury and adapting poses for varying needs.
Pranayama and Breathwork: Harness the power of breath to support each chakra’s unique qualities. Learn various pranayama techniques, from grounding breath practices to energizing ones, all connected to specific chakras for targeted benefits.
Meditation and Mindfulness: Develop the ability to guide mindfulness and meditation practices, incorporating chakra-focused visualizations and mantras. Techniques taught include loving-kindness meditation, mindfulness practices, and chakra-specific meditative approaches to deepen awareness and inner connection.
Teaching Methodology: Build a foundation for becoming a confident yoga teacher with skills in voice modulation, sequencing, and hands-on adjustments. Explore the art of class planning and practice teaching with peer feedback. Trainees will also learn how to integrate yoga philosophy, like the Yamas and Niyamas, into classes and personal practice.
Ethics and Professionalism: Understand the ethical framework of yoga, emphasizing the responsibilities and boundaries essential for teachers. Learn the importance of nurturing a healthy student-teacher relationship and the ongoing self-care vital for teaching longevity.
Workshops and Special Sessions: Engage in specialized workshops like “Sound Meditation,” which highlights the connection between voice and the Throat Chakra, and “Heart Chakra Anatomy” sessions that merge physical and emotional awareness for an integrative learning experience.
Community and Connection: Participate in a supportive learning environment that fosters deep connections. This community aspect allows for collaborative learning and growth, strengthening your network of peers and mentors beyond the training.
Unique Chakra-Based Modules Include:
Root Chakra (Muladhara): Foundation and grounding, with asanas focusing on the feet and legs.
Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana): Creativity and flow, focusing on the hips and pelvis with targeted hip-openers and emotional exploration.
Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura): Empowerment and core work, featuring anatomy sessions on the abdominals and powerful posture breakdowns.
Heart Chakra (Anahata): Compassion and openness, with heart-opening asanas and an emphasis on love and connection.
Throat Chakra (Vishuddha): Communication and expression, explored through sound meditation, voice workshops, and teaching methodology.
Third Eye and Crown Chakras (Ajna & Sahasrara): Intuition and transcendence, with classes dedicated to balancing the spiritual aspects of practice, including meditation and Kundalini insights.

✨ Rachel Davids
Owner, Lead Trainer — E-RYT® 200, RPYT®, YACEP®
Founder, Asha Yoga & Wellness • Creator, Asha 200-Hour Chakra-Based YTT • Retreat Leader
Rachel’s yoga journey began in 2005, when a chance introduction to hot yoga completely reshaped the course of her life. What started as curiosity quickly became a lifeline — helping her navigate infertility, pregnancies, miscarriage, and years of degenerative back pain. Yoga became her anchor, restoring mobility, easing chronic pain, and guiding her away from the surgery she was once told was inevitable.
In 2008, she completed her first 200-hour certification with CorePower Yoga in Huntington Beach with no intention of teaching — yet the opportunity arose, and Rachel said yes. That “yes” led to nearly two decades of teaching experience across Hot 26, Vinyasa, Yin, Prenatal, Children’s Yoga, Mindfulness, Yoga for Anxiety, and Sound Therapy.
Rachel has trained with renowned teachers such as Kino McGregor, Brian Kest, and Jason Crandell. In 2017 she authored her first 200-hour training, and by 2021 she began leading teacher trainings, blending alignment, anatomy, chakra philosophy, and the emotional intelligence needed in modern yoga spaces.
Rachel also enjoys planning and leading yoga retreats that create community and connection outside the studio. She has hosted retreats in Depoe Bay on the Oregon Coast (2024) and curated a full international retreat experience in Roatán for 2025. Her next major offering is the upcoming Mixto, Mexico retreat in 2026, designed to blend adventure, rest, and daily practice in a breathtaking oceanside setting.
Today, Rachel teaches and mentors from her home at Asha Yoga & Wellness in Gig Harbor, a studio centered on warmth, accessibility, and belonging. When she’s not teaching, she’s exploring new retreat destinations, traveling, or spending time with her four children — her greatest teachers.
✨ Shabadrang Bandhana Kaur Khalsa
Ayurvedic Practitioner, Healer, Yoga Teacher, Lead Trainer
Shabadrang is a deeply intuitive healer, Ayurvedic practitioner, and seasoned yoga teacher whose work bridges ancient wisdom and modern accessibility. Her path began in 2004 through Hatha and Vinyasa yoga and early studies in Reiki. In 2007, she completed her first 200-hour training with Frog Lotus Yoga in Massachusetts — a transformative experience that sparked her dedication to lifelong study and service.
Since then, she has taught across the U.S. and internationally — including New Hampshire, Alaska, Washington, Mexico, and the Punjab region of India — bringing an inclusive, heart-forward approach to every space she enters. She is currently completing a Master’s degree in Ayurveda and Integrated Medicine at Maharishi International University.
What makes Shabadrang truly unique is her compassionate, accessible approach to yoga and healing:
🌿 A deeply personal connection
She meets each student exactly where they are — from beginners to seasoned teachers seeking depth.
🌿 Transformational workshops
Her offerings go far beyond physical asana, focusing on Awareness, Ayurvedic living, kriyas, breathwork, Naad, meditation, and self-inquiry.
🌿 Empowering people to heal themselves
She teaches simple, effective tools that require no equipment, no costly accessories, and no reliance on substances — promoting natural healing and self-trust.
🌿 Practical wisdom for real lives
Shabadrang understands that people have limited time, energy, and resources. Her tools create immediate relief and long-term stability without overwhelm.
When she’s not teaching, you’ll find her around a fire, connecting with animals, being near the water, or spending time with friends and family.
